Among the highest grossing films released during the 2026 summer, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie led the way for Universal, taking in about 427.1 million dollars and confirming the enduring pull of the video game franchise on the big screen.

Behind it, the science fiction adaptation Project Hail Mary earned around 342.3 million dollars for MGM, showing that ambitious genre films could still command a large theatrical audience when the material genuinely connected with viewers.

Lionsgate's Michael rounded out the leading trio with roughly 340.1 million dollars, a result that underlined how a strong summer can lift several studios at once rather than concentrating all the success in a single release.
